Spotlight School

Our Mission

The Educational Technology Center works collaboratively to provide professional learning, consulting, and service for Georgia pre-service and in-service educators to promote the appropriate use of technology in support of teaching, learning, and leadership.

The Educational Technology Center (ETC) at First District is a collaborative effort between the First District RESA and the Georgia Department of Education.

GACE Assessments

The Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators® (GACE®) are criterion-referenced, objective-based assessments designed to measure a candidate’s knowledge and skills in relation to established standards. We currently offer the Paraprofessional and Computer Skills Competency Assessments.

Professional Learning

All of our professional learning services utilize Moodle for online access to course content.

Technical Services

Our technical support staff are available to advise school systems on security, wireless infrastructure, hardware purchases, and networking solutions. We also offer new services such as Computer Forensics and Disaster Recovery consultation.

Presentation: Lunch & learn

Today, Daniel is presenting at Statesboro High School's Lunch & Learn, where educators enjoy a meal and get a chance to learn a bit of cool stuff while they do so. Daniel is sharing his top 20 list of websites and resources - well, maybe more than 20!

Toyota TAPESTRY Grants for Science Teachers

$550,000 for science teachers

A partnership between Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. and the National Science Teachers Association, the Toyota TAPESTRY Grants for Science Teachers program offers grants to K-12 science teachers for innovative projects that enhance science education in the school and/or school district. Fifty large grants and a minimum of 20 mini-grants, totaling $550,000 in all, will be awarded this year.
