| | Shelly Smith Executive Director ssmith@fdresa.org A Savannah native, Shelly began her career in education as a high school English teacher in Indiana but went on to teach reading and English language arts in upper elementary and middle grades. She has served in Georgia schools and systems as instructional supervisor, Title I director, career and migrant education coordinator, professional learning coordinator, and curriculum director. At FDRESA, she has acted as language arts consultant and assistant director for education services. She assumed the role of FDRESA executive director in January, 2007, with 35 years experience in public education. Shelly holds a B.S. in Secondary Education from Georgia Southern, a M.S. in English Education from Indiana State University, and an Ed.S. in Middle Grades Education from Mercer University. She also earned reading specialist certification at Valdosta State University and leadership certification through Georgia Southern. |
