| The primary goal of First District RESA is school improvement as reflected in increased student learning. FDRESA plans, manages, coordinates, and provides assistance which supports member school systems and schools as they set and achieve school improvement goals. System and school goals are established locally, reflecting the needs of students and staff; therefore, it becomes the task of FDRESA to help systems identify and articulate those services which will best support and advance system and school improvement efforts. In addition to collecting information regarding system needs and service priorities, FDRESA staff work alongside system personnel as they annually conduct formal, comprehensive data collection activities in order to plan and provide services which specifically address system and school needs within the region. As a part of the school improvement process, FDRESA works to build capacity in systems and schools to employ data-driven decision making. Through the meaningful and informed use of data, client schools can establish measurable student achievement goals and plan and successfully implement interventions for increased student learning. Technical assistance and professional learning services impacting curriculum, delivery of instruction, and assessment of learning are high priorities which lead to improved delivery of instruction. FDRESA curriculum and instructional services are most often concentrated in the core academic areas across all grade levels, prekindergarten through grade 12. Professional learning on scientific research-based strategies in reading, English language arts, and mathematics continues to be a high priority. | | |
