Our Mission

The Educational Technology Center works collaboratively to provide professional learning, consulting, and service for Georgia pre-service and in-service educators to promote the appropriate use of technology in support of teaching, learning, and leadership.

The Educational Technology Center (ETC) at First District is a collaborative effort between the First District RESA and the Georgia Department of Education.

GA ETC Project Based Learning

GAETC PBL is an annual statewide competition that focuses on teaching through student projects. The two categories include webpage design and movie editing.

GACE Assessments

The Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators® (GACE®) are criterion-referenced, objective-based assessments designed to measure a candidate’s knowledge and skills in relation to established standards. We currently offer the Paraprofessional and Computer Skills Competency Assessments.

Professional Learning

All of our professional learning services utilize Moodle for online access to course content.

Technical Services

Our technical support staff are available to advise school systems on security, wireless infrastructure, hardware purchases, and networking solutions. We also offer new services such as Computer Forensics and Disaster Recovery consultation.

2010 GSTA Science Doesn't Have to be Boring!

This workshop was presented to science teachers at the 2010 Georgia Science Teachers Association Annual Conference in Savannah, GA. It was designed to give resources and ideas for both teachers and students to "show what they know" using free web tools.

Bulloch Co. Media Specialist Workshop

February 2nd, 2009

Today, we are hosting a workshop for Bulloch County media specialists on Web 2.0 technologies. Pariticpants will be exposed to several exemplary Web 2.0 applications and services and will break into small groups to explore them. Or goal is to challenge our guests to teach each other about these sites while sharing their own discoveries. We will be there for support or to help those that get stuck.
