The Georgia General Assembly authorized the Professional Standards Commission to establish the Georgia Master Teacher Certification Program in 2005. The program provides state recognition to Georgia public school teachers who demonstrate excellence that is defined as gains in students' achievement. In the three years of the program, 354 teachers across Georgia have earned the distinction.
Twenty-nine FDRESA area teachers have been named Georgia Master Teachers during the three years of the program. We congratulate the FDRESA Master Teachers for their commendations as educators who have positively impacted student achievement in their schools. For more information about the Georgia Master Teachers Program and the application process, refer to www.gamasterteachers.org.
