| Dr. Lewis Kimball, Ed. D., Lead Psychologist Dr. Kimball is a progeny of the south Georgia region. He was one of the first cohorts to finish the school psychology program at Georgia Southern University and graduated from the program in 1974 with his M.Ed. and Ed.S., respectively. He has been employed with RESA since that time and has served a wide area in southeast Georgia. Dr. Kimball graduated from Georgia Southern University's Education Leadership Program in 1998 and has been RESA's lead psychologist for the past decade. Presently, he serves Appling, Evans and Candler counties. Dr. Kimball is a member of the Southeastern School Psychology Consortium, The National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), Georgia Association of School Psychologists (GASP). He is also a former president of GASP. |

Types of Service Direct services are provided by the staff daily to students through comprehensive psychological assessments and counseling. Functioning as an integral part of the systems and schools which are served, the psychologists also serve as consultants to parents, teachers and administrators in promoting mental health, learning, and adjustment among preschool and school age children. Additional Service Consultation is also a large part of the service provided to the school systems. These consultative services can include; student support team (SST) referrals, pre-assessment conferences, interpretation of test results, eligibility team meetings, individualized education plan meetings, case follow-ups, review of transfer student's records, student screenings, and case management consultations. Other services included system level evaluation and research, compliance review preparations, in-service training to teachers and administrators, and crisis team members. Training Staff members maintain their skills and acquire additional knowledge through a variety of conferences, workshops or classes on the national, state and local levels. These professional development courses are provided by organizations such as the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), the Georgia Association of School Psychologists (GASP), the Southeast Georgia School Psychology Consortium, other professional organizations and also through post graduate school. |
