The TSS Endorsement
will provide:
- An opportunity
to help a fellow teacher who is starting out, while sharpening
your own knowledge and expertise
- A step toward
master teacher certification
- Ten (10) PLUs
upon completion of TSS Instructional Course and TSS Internship
TSS Endorsement
Program is offered in two courses:
TSS
Instructional Course (50 hours = 5 PLUs) Tuition:
$250
- Two
consecutive weeks of coursework; ten 5-hour days

Topics include
mentoring strategies, analysis of effective teaching strategies,
communication and conferencing skills, and preparation for
development of an Induction Portfolio
TSS
Internship (50 hours = 5 PLUs)
Tuition: $250
- Completion of
an Action Plan for mentoring a protégé
- Logging 50
hours in mentoring a protégé – either a student teacher or a new
teacher
- Completion of
a portfolio containing such artifacts as instructional plans,
observation reports, and a video of pre- and post-conferencing
with the protégé
Requirements:
- Candidates
must:
- have three
(3) successful years of teaching experience
- be
assigned a protégé with whom to work – a new teacher to
teaching or to the school, or a student teacher
- be
recommended by the school Principal and system Professional
Learning Coordinator
- be willing
to commit the additional time necessary for supervisory and
support responsibilities with the protégé
- The courses
must be taken in order
- Both courses
must be completed to receive the endorsement; timeline is two
years to complete both courses

County Tech Center, 1355 West Orange Street, Jesup
*A minimum of 20 participants is required for
the class to be held. Consideration will be given to allow
candidates from all systems to participate.
