This session will feature two presentations by area coaches. Sara Goldrick and Erin Turner from Bryan County and Jennifer Glass from Jeff Davis County. As always coaches will have opportunities to share ideas and discuss topics of interest.

Micro-teaching is a teacher development technique whereby the teacher records one of their own short lessons, in order to get constructive feedback from peers. John Hattie conducted a review of the evidence for micro-teaching and found it was an effective method for improving student outcomes with a positive correlation of 0.88.  Richmond Hill High School’s Sara Goldrick and Erin Turner employed this strategy with a group of teachers from different content areas, all of which stated the activity was a beneficial and worthy experience for all educators.

Jeff Davis Elementary School faculty has worked diligently to advance student achievement with renewed persistence and improved processes. Jennifer Glass will share their journey of school improvement including self-assessment, accountability and collaboration among teacher, coach and administrator.
