This course introduces foundational principles and practices of instructional coaching aligned with Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC) expectations for service and leader endorsement programs and Georgia’s In-Field Endorsement Rule 505-3-.85. This course emphasizes the development of instructional coaching practices that support teacher learning and improve student outcomes. Candidates explore adult learning theory, research-based coaching frameworks, relational trust, and reflective dialogue. Emphasis is placed on the application of data literacy and use of data analysis to guide instructional decision-making and support instructional improvement. Candidates will engage in applied coaching activities and complete two key performance assessments: an Instructional Coaching Framework Analysis and a Coaching Cycle Implementation. This course emphasizes the implementation and refinement of instructional coaching practices that support teacher learning and improve student outcomes. Candidates engage in collaborative coaching, PLC and team facilitation, and coaching impact analysis. Emphasis is placed on the application of data literacy and use of data analysis and evidence to evaluate instructional practices and measure the impact of coaching on teaching and learning. Candidates will engage in applied coaching and facilitation activities and complete a Coaching Impact Analysis and PLC Facilitation as the Key Performance Assessment.
